After studying art and architecture in college, Fred founded a graphic communications and marketing company.

Designing and producing exhibition and art catalogs for museums, and educational books for international publishers became the focus of the firm.

Upon retirement, inspired by local potters, Fred appreciated the serenity of working at the wheel, with his hands covered in clay. Since then he has studied ceramics at various community art centers, and now works predominantly as an Associate at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, as well as his personal studio in North Carolina.

Fred expresses his vision through classical forms adorned with whimsical details. He enjoys experimenting with different clay bodies, firing techniques and glazes to achieve an array of colors and styles in his work.
